I flew to Chicago for Andrew Emil & Jeff Bloom’s record release party. Andrew and Jeff are “Broadway & Wilson”. They just released their full length album titled “Good Old Daze” LP through Farris Wheel. Available at stompy.com. It was a good night, J-Dub, Lady D and Gene Farris played also. It’s an excellent album worth picking up!
Shannon and I had a chance to go to T’s Restaurant and Bar last night (Thursday) for their wing night. Huge whole Wings! (.75 each) Straight up puts Buffalo Wild Wings and Quaker Steak & Lube to shame! They have over 20 home made sauces (Hawaiian curry and Jerk are stand outs) & none of that grease soaking breading that many places have. Located in a out of the way spot in Swissvale, just minutes from Braddock and about 7 miles from DT Pittsburgh. T is a good guy as well, the place was packed (they have a DJ on Thursday). He recognized we were there to eat so he got us a seat right away.
Show up before 9pm to avoid a $3 entry.
While I was in Kansas City (BBQ capital of the world) I had the chance to eat at Oklahoma Joe’s BBQ. This establishment was rated Anthony Bordaine’s top 13 places to eat at before you die. We went on Christmas eve and the place was still packed. Interesting enough the restaurant is located inside of a gas station. It was a unusual experience but the BBQ was amazing! top 5 places to eat BBQ at in Kansas City.
I recently took a trip to my home town of Kansas City Mo for the holiday season and got a chance to view some of the local graffiti. Kansas City has always been deep in the graf scene and some of the new walls don’t disappoint.
There is something to do on Xmas eve, that is if you are in KC. Big thanks to Dj Chris and Johnny Bradford for gettin’ this together!
Got a chance to try the Quaker Steak and Lube’s Atomic Wings yesterday. Wow it almost hurt just to smell them. As featured on Man vs Food and a few other Food Network programs. It must be a habanero concentrate mixed with mace, but I finished them. (only 6)
The house is finally done! Now I’m working on the silk screen studio. That is almost done as well. Here are some pics. more to come.
